IBEC: Almost a quarter of firms set to increase staff in next three months

According to the employers’ representative body’s latest business sentiment report, nearly a quarter of Irish firms are planning to increase their staff numbers over the next three months, with just over half saying they are unlikely to change their employee numbers either way.

While this points to further job losses in some sectors of the economy, IBEC said that the overall picture is “significantly more positive” than when this report was first published two years ago.
