THE ISEQ index began the week in negative territory once again, closing down 61.96 points to 2,382.06.

Under-pressure market falls again

European markets fell sharply overall, amid increasing speculation of a Greek default and concerns over the lack of a permanent solution by policymakers to the sovereign debt crisis in the eurozone.

In the financial sector, Bank of Ireland was 0.2c higher at 7.3c while AIB dipped by 0.2c to 3.8c. Irish Life & Permanent was unchanged at 2.5c with insurance group FBD declining by 10c to €6.40.
