Firms spent €8.7m on CSO surveys

Cork: The CSO estimates that it cost Irish business €8.7 million in 2010 to comply with information requests for the agency.

Firms spent €8.7m on CSO surveys

The CSO’s Response Burden Barometer measures the total administrative burden placed on Irish businesses by CSO surveys. The barometer for 2010 has increased by 10.1% since 2005 and by 2.7% since 2009.

“The increase in the burden level in 2010 reflects the expansion of the June Agricultural Survey into the decennial Census of Agriculture. This more than offset a significant reduction in the earnings hours and employment costs survey, the reduction being achieved through a reduced sample and a lower completion time per survey form,” the CSO said.
