Washington: American factories received fewer orders in June, reflecting declines in demand for machinery and computers that signal manufacturing may struggle to accelerate.

Bookings for manufacturers’ goods fell 0.8%, matching the median forecast of economists surveyed by Bloomberg News, after a revised 0.6% in May that was smaller than previously estimated, figures from the Commerce Department showed in Washington. Demand for capital equipment was revised to show an increase, making for a less dire outlook on business investment.
