Delay of scheme criticised by IFA

IRISH FARMERS ASSOCIATION deputy president Eddie Downey said the delay in process-ing around 200 Farm Improvement Scheme applications by the Department of Agriculture is causing severe hardship on farms as grants are being held up as a result.

Mr Downey said it is unacceptable that the timescale for dealing with grant aid applications is not being honoured as agreed in the charter.
