Market gains in line with peers
The European Central Bank raised its key interest rate a quarter of a percent to 1.5%, in an effort to curb inflationary pressures. Eurozone inflation remained at 2.7% in June, still well above the ECB’s target of just under 2%.
In the financial sector, Bank of Ireland added 0.6c to 11.5c. AIB dropped 0.8c to 13c, while Irish Life & Permanent increased 0.5c to 4.5c.
