ROGUE and reckless bankers still holding down jobs in Irish financial institutions have until January to leave town or be sacked, the head of financial regulation Matthew Elderfield warned yesterday.

Yesterday, the bank published a consultation paper on the proposed fitness and probity standards which has been welcomed by The Institute of Directors in Ireland.

Mr Elderfield said fitness and probity are the broad headings for applying standards to individuals who work — or wish to work — in the financial services industry in Ireland.
