Sherry FitzGerald trims losses to €5m

SHERRY FitzGerald, the largest estate agent in the country, managed to cut its losses by more than €10 million in 2009, according to accounts filed with the Companies Office.

The accounts for the group’s holding company, Sherry FitzGerald Holdings, show it made a pre-tax loss of just over €5m in 2009. This was down from a loss of €15.5m in the preceding year. The company’s operating loss of just under €4m compared to an operating loss of €16.7m in 2008.

Turnover amounted to €35.3m in 2009, down from nearly €40m in the previous year.
