“VESTED interests” persuaded the Government to delay the curtailment of certain property tax reliefs, Labour claimed last night.

Its finance spokeswoman Joan Burton said it was clear from the Finance Bill published yesterday that these interests had been allowed to “bend the ear of Government ministers to postpone additional contributions” to the Exchequer.

The Finance Bill, which will go through the Dáil in the coming weeks, gives effect to measures announced in the December Budget.
