Cider sweetens Magners profit targets

SALES of Magners cider in Britain continued to strengthen in the run-up to Christmas, leading its Irish parent C&C to stay positive about full-year profit targets.

As part of its third quarter trading update — covering the three months to the end of November — C&C said Magners continues to recover, with a 4.8% increase in sales volume measured in the relevant period.

The Dublin-headquartered drinks group’s management said it is keeping its full-year operating profit guidance of between €102m-€106m. C&C’s financial year runs to the end of February.
