THE main Irish airports saw commercial traffic plunge last year, with Shannon particularity badly hit.

Commercial flight figures from the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) shows traffic was down 9.3% in Dublin and down by 9% in Cork.

In Shannon, however, commercial traffic plunged by almost 22% in the last year.
