British house prices rise by 0.4%

London: New figures from lender Nationwide show that British house prices rose by 0.4% in December, compared with November, after a two-month consecutive fall — bringing the average price of a house in Britain to €189,000.

However, Nationwide’s quarterly reading showed that prices were down by 1% — indicating that the downward pattern has not yet been broken.
