Factory gate prices drop

FACTORY gate prices decreased by 2.5% in October 2010, compared to a decrease of 1.5% recorded for October 2009.

The annual percentage change in wholesale prices compiled by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) showed a decrease of 0.7% in October 2010, compared with an annual increase of 0.3% in September 2010.

In the month, the price index for export sales decreased by 2.9% while the index for home sales decreased by 0.7%.
