Call to template government report
The report identifies €20 million in savings that could be generated by integrating the local authorities of Limerick city and county.
Deputy chief executive of Chambers Ireland Seán Murphy said: “We particularly note the finding that approximately €6m in cost savings would be earmarked for reducing rates in Limerick City to the same levels as charged throughout Co Limerick. If such a strategy were to be applied nationally, this would be of great benefit to struggling businesses.”
