Factory gate prices decrease in July

FACTORY gate prices decreased by 0.6% in July 2010, according to data from the Central Statistics Office.

This compares with a decrease of 0.3% for July 2009. As a result, the annual percentage change showed a rise of 0.9% to July 2010, compared with an annual increase of 1.2% to June 2010.

In the month, the price index for export sales decreased by 0.7% while the index for home sales increased by 0.2%. In the year there was an increase in the price index for export sales of 1.2% (this can be influenced by currency fluctuations) and an increase of 0.1% in respect of the price index for home sales.
