Industrial production output falls 2%

IRISH industrial production output fell by 2.7%, on a year-on-year basis, in April, according to the latest figures released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO).

The figures also showed an 11.8% decline on March levels of output, while industrial turnover was up by 2.6% on a monthly basis but down by 9.1% on a year-on-year level.

According to the CSO, the most significant changes during the month occurred in the areas of food products and computer and electronics – output falling, respectively, by 6.5% and 32% on an annualised basis.
