IRISH shares jumped almost 2% yesterday as banks and airlines performed well.

European shares up as debt crisis concerns ease

AIB was up almost 2%, to €1.22, while Irish Life and Permanent saw a slight increase of almost 1%, to €2.39. However, Bank of Ireland fell 2% to €1.42.

Airlines also finished in positive territory, with Ryanair increasing 2%, to €3.29, and Aer Lingus rising 0.5%, to 71 cent.
