ONE in three people are having problems paying their household bills, according to a survey.

Also about half of homeowners now have additional borrowings, such as personal loans, with 14% owing more than €2,500, according to the survey from the Irish Mortgage Corporation.

Its director, Frank Conway said it is a concern that 27% of people said that they have experienced a problem paying some of their bills in 2010.
