FG criticise replacement scheme for REPS as ‘fundamentally flawed’

THE proposed agri-environment scheme is fundamentally flawed, according to Fine Gael.

Party spokesperson Michael Creed TD said it will not deliver on its objectives in terms of environmental protection and the reimbursement of farmers for implementing such measures.

He said the scheme is constructed in such a manner that it potentially could unravel the environmental gain under REPS 2, 3 and 4.
