Market recovers early losses

THE market managed to turn around early losses yesterday to finish ahead, despite the banks giving back some of the gains made late last week.

The ISEQ advanced 5.74 points to close at 3,016.98.

The financials were weak on the day as investors looked to take advantage of last weeks gains. AIB shed 10.2c to finish at €1.34. Bank of Ireland and Irish Life and Permanent followed suit, giving up 5.2c and 8.5c to finish the session at €1.16 and €3.14.
