Market dips as bourses stable

THE ISEQ index dipped 2.07 points to close at 2,967.42. The main world and European bourses were weaker in morning trading before recovering in the afternoon.

The US Federal reserve announced on Thursday it was raising the interest rate it charges banks for emergency loans.

In the financial sector, AIB added 3c to €1.12, Bank of Ireland slipped 4c to €1.26, Irish Life & Permanent gained 3c to €3.03, while insurance company FBD Holdingsadvanced 15c to €6.
