Market makes moderate gain

THE Irish exchange saw a minor gain yesterday, having begun the week in negative territory.

Market makes moderate gain

Bourses across the eurozone reflected this trend as markets in Britain, Germany and France all had positive days. The ISEQ index gained 26.22 points to finish at 2,888.93.

Bank shares were all relatively strong with market leader AIB adding 6.5c to €1.125. Bank of Ireland and Irish Life and Permanent both followed suit, gaining 8.4c and 13.2c. The former ended the day at respectively1.30, with the latter coming in at €2.76.
