Commission urged to reintroduce export refunds in dairy sector

THE European Commission has been urged by the Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association to reintroduce export refunds.

It said dairy processors must be provided with new market options as well as ensuring that the market recovery is sustained.

ICMSA dairy committee chairman Pat McCormack said dairy farmers must see a substantial recovery in milk price in 2010.
