AER Lingus has moved to define itself as an airline which can offer customers a service different to that of its rival Ryanair as it puts in place a new business model.

Customers willing to pay more will be offered better food and faster check-in times.

Aer Lingus will adopt a hybrid model somewhere between a discount and full-service carrier chief executive Christoph Mueller said at an investor briefing in London yesterday.
