MORE than 200 jobs are being cut at Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), owners of Ulster Bank.

All staff work in the bank’s back-room technical support services looking after IT and telecommunications.

RBS said employees were told in a series of meetings their roles were no longer required. “We remain committed to our long-standing principle of situating customer contact work within the country or region where the customer is located,” the banks said.
