ISEQ index hit by political uncertainty

YESTERDAY saw the Dublin market overshadowed by the Green Party vote on a range of issues, including NAMA.

ISEQ index hit by political uncertainty

Fine Gael have said they would scrap NAMA if the current Government collapsed and they were to gain power. The ISEQ index shed 16.82 points as a result of this uncertainty and finished at a mark of 3345.06.

Bank stocks had a positive day despite this, with AIB and Bank of Ireland tacking on 2.5c and 17c to 3.04 and 3.14. Irish Life and Permanent was also among the best- performing stocks, adding 10.9c to 5.70.
