Electricity demand falls 7% in August

ELECTRICITY demand fell by about 7% in August, compared with the same month last year, according to statistics from transmission system operator EirGrid.

This is broadly the same percentage fall in demand as seen in July this year.

EirGrid publishes statistics on a regular basis on demand for power, as well as figures relating to connection of renewable energy, maximum output of wind energy, and installed generation.
