Exports remain ‘one shining economic light’

EXPORTS continued in their role as the strongest element of the Irish economy in June, with a 6% year-on-year increase – in value terms – measured and a 5% rise evident, when measured against May’s performance.

New preliminary figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO), for June, showed that the seasonally adjusted value of exports amounted to €7.53 billion in June – up from €7.14bn in May and from roughly the same amount in June of last year.

No actual export volume figures for June are available as yet.
