Marginal movement for main stocks

THE Irish market opened the week down slightly as the larger cap stocks quoted in the ISEQ index recorded minimal movement.

Weak trading volumes indicated that investors were staying on the sidelines. The ISEQ was down 13.80 on the day to close at 2,867.42.

The financials had a mixed day as AIB moved on 1c to €2.13, with just over 4 million shares traded. Bank of Ireland and Irish Life and Permanent on the other hand fell away slightly, shedding 4.1c and 3c to finish at €2.05 and €3.60.
