Cost of living in Ireland down by 5.4%

THE cost of living fell more in Ireland during June than in any other country in the OECD area.

Cost of living in Ireland down by 5.4%

Figures show prices – based on the consumer price index (CPI), which include mortgage interest relief – fell by 5.4% in Ireland in June compared with an average of 0.1%, according to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

This compares with an overall annual rise of 0.1% in the year to May.
