THE first Monday in July saw a weak Irish market in line with its European counterparts and slow volumes inkeeping with the time of year.

The ISEQ index fell 77.28 points to close at 2616.06.

The financials were shaky on the day as spreads between Irish 10-year government bonds and their German equivalents remain the highest in the Eurozone.
