Market improves in line with peers

THE Irish market saw an improvement yesterday, following the trend across Europe and beyond. The ISEQ index lifted almost 3% or 77.38 points to 2,755.34.

Irish banks were at the forefront of the day’s gains as the Government closes in on finalising NAMA legislation. AIB and Bank of Ireland advanced 21c and 17c to €1.86 and €1.90. Irish Life and Permanent followed suit surging 26c to €3.16.

CRH dropped 1c to €16.54. Grafton Group and Kingspan managed to add 23c and 18c to €2.67 and €4.22.
