EUROPEAN bourses lost ground yesterday as investors began to question whether the potential green shoots of a recovery in the US economy were actually likely to come to fruition at this stage.

The US market closed down on Tuesday and this trend followed through to Europe yesterday. The ISEQ index was down 103.14 points to 2,784.56.

Bank of Ireland fell 26.5c to €1.65. AIB and Irish Life and Permanent followed suit giving up 36c and 19c to €1.75 and €3.27.
