Department undertakes review of local office network

A REVIEW of the local office network in the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food is to be presented to Agriculture Minister Brendan Smith shortly.

Mr Smith told an Oireachtas Select Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the review is not about taking away services from the farming community, but about providing better services.

He was responding to queries by opposition spokespersons Michael Creed (FG) and Sean Sherlock (Lab) on the possible rationalisation of the number of people working in his department.
