ROAD users are being urged to take extra care as farm machinery traffic is about to increase on public routes with the start of the busy summer work season.

The Irish Farmers’ Association (IFA) and the Road Safety Authority (RSA) issued the plea as the number of tractors, trailers and other farm machinery using the roads was set to rise.

IFA president Padraig Walshe, urged farmers to be safety conscious whenever bringing a farm vehicle onto the public road.
