RYANAIR carried 4.7 million passengers last month, up 5% on the same period last year.

The load factor, or proportion of seats filled dropped to 77% from 79% and was affected by the timing of Easter, Ryanair said.

Meanwhile, British Airways said traffic fell in March as the recession reduced demand for business and leisure travel.
