ISEQ quiet as world agog at RBS

The ISEQ index closed down 2.76 points at 2,050.10 points yesterday. Banking news was to the fore throughout Europe as Royal Bank of Scotland reported record-breaking losses of £24.1 billion (€27bn) in 2008.

ISEQ quiet as world agog at RBS

It plans to put £325bn of toxic assets into a scheme that offers insurance for any future losses.

The Irish financials had another quiet day. AIB dipped 2c to 48c, Bank of Ireland shed 1c to 27c, Irish Life & Permanent jumped 5c to 70c, and FBD gained 47c to e7.77.
