Investment and innovation willdrive dairy industry, claims Smith

NEW investment, additional quota and innovation will drive the dairy industry to greater success in the future, Agriculture Minister Brendan Smith has predicted.

He told an Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers’ Association conference in Cavan the industry is well-equipped to take advantage of the long-term positive outlook for dairy markets.

Irish producers have the potential to significantly increase milk production in the short term, he said.
