RELIEF is on the way for struggling Irish exporters with the euro set to fall against sterling and the dollar.

Simon Barry, senior economist of Ulster Bank expects the euro to be worth just 80p by the year end, reversing much of the 35% collapse seen in the last few months of 2008.

He is also forecasting more euro weakness against the dollar, in the short-term, with a $1.15 target at least likely to emerge in the months ahead.
