Market maintains recent rally

THE Irish market made a late rally to maintain its recent positive run yesterday. The ISEQ index added 0.41 of a point to 2,621.56.

A mixed day played out among the financials with AIB losing 1c to €1.88. Bank of Ireland remained stable to end the session at 90c. Anglo-Irish fared better adding 5.3c to 26c, while Irish Life and Permanent tacked on 6c to €1.91.

A bad day for the construction sector saw all three majors falling. Grafton lost 11c to close at €2.38. CRH and Kingspan followed suit giving up 20c and 5c to €19.95 and €3.25.
