Market down but Anglo Irish gains

Anglo Irish Bank announced that its chief executive David Drumm had resigned with immediate effect after chairman Sean Fitzpatrick and non-executive director, Lar Broderick resigned following an “inappropriate” transfer of loans.

Anglo Irish Bank finished up 3c at 35c, at the end of the day. It had been as low as 19c in early morning trading. AIB weakened 11c to €1.65, Bank of Ireland slipped 8c to 68c and Irish Life & Permanent ended the week at €1.47, unchanged on the day.
