CPL Resources expects profits to drop by half

RECRUITMENT firm CPL Resources said business has been hit by the global economic crisis and expects profits in the six months to the end of December to fall by almost half.

CPL is the only recruitment company on the Irish bourse. It said first-half pretax profit may decline to around €6 million from €11.7m a year earlier.

In a trading statement, CPL said it has experienced a “significant slowdown” in business and the outlook for 2009 is “very uncertain”.
