Market falls over US data

THE Irish market was back in negative territory again yesterday as the US delivered extremely weak job data for November.

The figures pointed to an even worse situation than many had imagined. The ISEQ index slipped 21.42 to 2,481.06.

The financials had a mixed day with AIB giving up 8c to €1.98. Bank of Ireland followed suit shipping 5c to 0.98. Irish Life and Permanent tacked on 11c to €1.62.Anglo-Irish moved on 2.9c to 50c, despite this gain, the stock failed to make much of an inroad into yesterday’s massive losses.
