Services sector shows record decline in activity

ACTIVITY in the services sector worsened at the fastest pace in more than eight years last month.

This is according to the latest NCB services PMI which recorded 32.6 in November, significantly down from the 52.8 reading a year earlier.

There was a record decline in new orders and employment, with more than one-third of firms reporting decreasing employment over the month.
