THE ISEQ index finished up 9.31 points yesterday at 2,515.99 as investors remained nervous ahead of news of more global central bank action to rescue weakening economies.

The ECB and the Bank of England meet on Thursday with the ECB expected to deliver a cut of at least 0.5% and possibly 0.75%, while the Bank of England is expected to cut rates by 1%.

AIB fell 24c to €2.33, Bank Of Ireland lost 15c to €1.27, Irish Life & Permanent weakened 7c to €1.63, while Anglo Irish Bank had a positive day gaining 9c to 94c.
