THE ISEQ index endured another dismal day in line with global markets, closing 105.40 points weaker at 2,310.82.

ISEQ endures another dismal day

There were sharp falls in Wall Street on Wednesday and these continued in early trading yesterday. Recessionary fears continue to dominate world markets. Also, there are continuing reports about the prospect of recapitalising the Irish banks, but no definitive announcement yet.

The main Irish banks had a rollercoaster day, opening very weak initially, improving throughout morning trading and eventually fading back somewhat in the afternoon.
