Rumoured job cuts at Pfizer

CONFLICTING signs about the state of health of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Ireland are continuing to emerge.

Rumoured job cuts at Pfizer

On the down side US pharmaceutical giant, Pfizer — which employs more than 2,300 people in Ireland and runs key manufacturing operations in Cork — is rumoured to be looking at cutting a small number of jobs in its Dublin base. No details have emerged from the company, but there is speculation that less than 20 jobs are on the cards at the group’s sales and marketing facility.

Meanwhile, Salesforce, the New York Stock Exchange-listed customer relationship management (CRM) technology provider — is eyeing Ireland as one of the locations for increased job creation over the next 12 months.
