YESTERDAY saw a minor rally on the Irish market as investors speculated ahead of this week’s interest rate announcements from the ECB and Bank of England.

The ISEQ index gained 49.74 points to 3,074.98.

Financial stocks were the primary drivers, as the four main banks made ground. AIB and Bank of Ireland gained 4c and 22.6c to finish the session at €4.24 and €2.32. Anglo-Irish gained 7c to respectively €2.20, while Irish Life and Permanent moved on 4.8c to €2.40.
