Food exporters urged to focus energies on the eurozone

THE strength of the euro has highlighted the relative attractiveness of eurozone markets for Irish food and drink exports, it was shown in Paris yesterday, as SIAL, the world’s leading biennial food innovation trade show got under way.

Eleven Irish companies are represented on the Bord Bia-organised Food Island stand at the event, which features 5,300 exhibitors representing 99 countries and which is expected to attract over 140,000 buyers.

Bord Bia has also organised an additional 21 representatives from 13 Irish food and drink companies to participate in a market entry and innovation visit to provide insights into doing business in France and continental Europe.
