FG: Waste funding deadline an impossible task for farmers

MORE than 20,000 farmers countrywide, who have been approved for funding under the Farm Waste Management Scheme, face the impossible task of trying to complete the approved work before the expiration of the approved December 31 deadline.

That’s what Fine Gael TD John O’Mahony told the Dáil in an adjournment debate during which he blamed the Government for “this impossible task”.

He said the Government had put in place a system which was clearly unable to cope with the significant demand that could have been expected in 2006.
